Havana May 2016 – Restaurante La Foresta

A fine rare gem found by chance …

Visiting Alejandro at the Comodoro around lunchtime I asked him for a good place to have a light lunch and he suggested La Foresta next to Pabexpo where the Festival Gala dinner takes place in Siboney.

La Foresta is like stepping into a perfect oasis – immaculate space, pleasure for the eyes, green garden, quiet music, subdued atmosphere, chill out feeling, more Beverly Hills or Miami Beach than Havana – but this is Siboney, Havana’s own Beverly Hills ….

We went there and loved the place, the food, the service and the quality right from the first moment. Beautiful spot !

So far La Foresta is one of the most accomplished places I have found in Havana.

The seafood is perfect in texture and taste, their Mediterranean salad the best combination of octopus and lobster, their Risottos are divine, the meat dishes also perfect, prices are on a par with other paladares, service is outstanding and everything just matches right to produce the perfect place for a long, leisurely lunch or dinner.
