Havana – Dinner At La Guarida

I am very grateful to Stephan for arranging this fantastic dinner, to John for organizing it and for their invitation to join their group at this very hard to get-in Paladar which I still consider to be number one in Cuba.

So much I enjoy the place that we arrived more than an hour earlier … we, that is Adrian, my Spanish friend and Frank from Belgica.

Adrian just wanted a look at the place and so we first took a tour of the building before settling comfortably into the smoking lounge upstairs of the Paladar which we had to ourselves.

There we passed the box of Montecristo Robustos EL 2000 that we had “found” in Havana and Adrian enjoyed one of his first vintage cigars.

He loved it.

Beautifully box pressed and fantastically developed in these years in a Cuban locker, it would be equally welcomed by our dinner companions, among them the most interesting and friendly cigar gentleman around, Simon Chase.

It was a most civilized and exquisite dinner with good conversations on cigars, Cuba and other topics.

As always during the Festival, the smaller the group, the more intimate the location, the more attractive and worthwhile the event.
