2011/05 – Sunny Mother’s Day
8 May

May 2011
A beautiful day with temperatures up to 29 C and we enjoyed it in one of the neighbouring villages, Flonheim, having an Aperitif in an old postage horse station from the Thurn & Taxis carriage era before sitting in the shade and putting away a hearty lunch of Schnitzel, fresh trout and ice cream with fruits.
The ladies received a long stemmed rose celebrating Mother’s Day. Although we see each other everyday day, it’s good to be with the family, celebrate and give a bit back for all the love and care we receive. Specially after having lost my mother last year – I think of her every day and believe she is happy watching over us. I see her in every cloud.
Afterwards it was a few hours out in the garden, smoking a BHK 56 and having a nap under the walnut tree before having coffee and fresh cheese cake with strawberries baked with love by my Mother-In-Law Klara.
Been like this for the last six weeks, with the farmers praying for rain and everybody else quite happy having an early summer.
