Herrlich sonniges Wetter in Rheinhessen, eine gute Gruppe Freunde versammelt sich in der Apotheke um Andreas beim Notdienst Gesellschaft zu leisten.

Andi „Cienfuegos” ist über 300 km gefahren um mit uns zu sein, Ralf „Lestat 39″ über 3 h von Stuttgart hochgefahren, Michael „Turner” ist aus München da – und die vielen „üblichen Verdächtige” aus dem gesamten Rhein-Main Gebiet sind da um Spass zu haben und gute Zigarren zu rauchen.

Und eine gute Auswahl an Zigarren ist es die da aufgefahren wird, wie der PL Maginifico ER UK humidor, Cohiba Lanceros, SLR A, Punch RS 12, H.Upmann Magnum 46 Jar und eine alte Kiste EMS Partagas Tres Petit Coronas unter anderem.

Dazu die besten und frischesten Trapp-Trapp Buletten wie immer aus Solingen dank Alex und eine gute Getränkeauswahl – was begehrt das Herz mehr ?

Wieder einmal ein herrlicher Abend – Danke an Alle !!

Glorious sunny weather in Rheinhessen and a good group of friends gathered at the pharmacy to pay company to Andreas on his night duty.

Andi “Cienfuegos” drove over 300 km to be with us, Ralf “Lesta39” drove 3 hours up from Stuttgart, Michael “Turner” came up from Munich and many more friends came from the Rhein Main area for a good time and some serious smoking fun.

Great selection of cigars to smoke, like the PL Magnifico ER UK humidor, Cohiba Lanceros, SLR A Cabinet, Punch RS 12 cabinet, H.Upmann Magnum 46 jar and an EMS Partagas Tres Petit Coronas among other things.

The freshest and best horsemeat burgers available, courtesy as always of Alex from Solingen, and a great selections of beverages.

What more can you ask for ?

Once again it was a great evening – Thanks to all for joining us !!

Update 27 May 2009 :

Yesterday evening, during an “Absolutely Nice Smoke” or ANS at the pharmacy, we smoked about 15 or 20 of the Magnificos from the PL Magnifico humidor.

We means, among many other good smokers, Andreas “Rheinhessenraucher”, Andi “Cienfuegos”, Michael “Turner”, Constantin “Fauntleroy”, Alex, Ralf “Lestat 39”, Gabriel “Atacama”, and myself.

Our consensus opinion was that it was not a very remarkable smoke. We were all unimpressed with the cigar.

Very light, no intensity, no specific PL taste pattern, pretty flat, boring were the comments used to describe it.

We also saw no or very little aging potential. And we all agreed that the cigar was/is NOT in its “sick” period.

My stick had a very nice first third, orange flavoured, quite interesting but nothing out of the ordinary. After the first third it became flat, tasteless and boring.

Pity really and very disappointing.

No comparison to the Cohiba Lancero from 08 that we enjoyed as our first cigar courtesy of Andi “Cienfuegos”.

But, as you can see, we had a great night of cigar smoking.
