Singapur – als Rundum-Sorglospaket!

Um es gleich vorneweg zu sagen:

eine der besten Wege eine unbekannte Stadt zu entdecken ist sich einer Lufthansa-Crew anzuschliessen.

Als Begleitperson eines Crewmitgliedes gehört man sofort zur „Familie”.

Man wird ganz selbstverständlich mitgenommen zu den besten Plätzen zum Essen, Trinken und Feiern.

So erging es auch mir bei Ninos letzten on-duty Flug.

Auf mich alleine gestellt wäre ich bloss zu den klassischen Touristenplätzen gelangt – so aber war der Trip eine dichte Abfolge vieler Highlights:

Essen? – raus an den Strand

Trinken? – um die Ecke in eine nette Bar

Feiern? – die einen kennen Lokale mit guter Livemusik, Nino und ich gehen zu Jimmy.

Jimmy läßt als Gastgeber keine Wünsche offen – ich verstehe nun Ninos Schwärmerei für den asiatischen Kulturkreis und für Jimmy im Besonderen.

Die Stadt ist modern, die Leute höflich und sehr hilfsbereit – auch hier kann ich Ninos Liebe zu diesem Platz der Welt verstehen.

Und als letztes kann ich Ninos Stolz auf seine Luftahnsa verstehen: man fühlt sich sofort wohl, kein „Geschiss” und viele nette offene Gespräche mit interessanten Leuten.

Es war ein wunderbares Erlebnis und ich sage nochmals „DANKE!” an Nino ( und Inge ) dass er mich mitgenommen hat.

Singapore – A care-free travel package!

I’ll say it up-front :

one of the best ways to discover an unknown city is to join a Lufthansa Crew.

Being a companion of a Crewmember you are immediately part of the “family”.

You are invited to join them go out and visit the best places for eating, drinking and partying.

That’s what happened when I joined Nino on his last duty flight.

Had I been on my own, I would have just visited the usual touristy places – this way the trip was a continuous chain of particularly special highlights.

Eating? – out to the beach.

Drinking? – around the corner in a pretty bar.

Partying? – some know places with live music, Nino and I go to Jimmy.

Jimmy is the perfect host and there’s no wish he won’t fulfil – now I understand Nino’s sympathy for Asian culture and society in general and for Jimmy in particular.

The city is modern, its people courteous and very helpful – again, I understand Nino’s love for this region of the world.

And finally, I can now understand Nino’s pride in his company, Lufthansa – you immediately feel at ease, are part of the crew, no fuss is made and you share good conversations with interesting people.

It was a great experience and I’d like to thank Nino (and Inge) for taking me along for the ride.
