Fiesta Cubana

Meine größte Sorge war es, dass wir auf der Fiesta Cubana von 5-th Ave. und Intertabak keine Kubaner treffen würden – aber dann sah ich Maritza und Juanita und der Abend war gerettet.

Wir luden Maritza an unserem Tisch und sie wusste dass sie gut aufgehoben war.

Es war eine wunderschöne Location, die Tropical Bierbar im Parque Metropolitano, ein Urwald im Jugendstil, sehr schön. Auch sehr schön die grazilen Kreaturen im Urwaldstil.

Die Musik ebenfalls exzellent – auch für die hohen Kubanischen Standards.

Herr Villiger gab sich die Ehre.

Nur ein Problem gab es – und das schon vor Beginn der Veranstaltung als die Busse ankamen.

Was tun wenn man Bier “entsorgen” muss ?

Richtig, man geht in die Büsche „brunzen” wie es auf Rhoihessisch heisst.
Und nicht nur wir konnten manche dabei betrachten…

Jedenfalls wenn keine Toiletten vorhanden sind – aber das war „der Preis für die Location” hörten wir.

Was etwas eng wird wenn man 400 Leute eingeladen hat. Somit ein Organisationswunder dass nach 30 Minuten ein Toilettenwagen vorhanden war. Mission Impossible mit gutem Ausgang also.

Mission Possible dagegen ist der Besuch von Patricia und Marc Benden aus Düsseldorf zu unserem ANS – Apotheken Notdienst Smoke. Wir freuen uns bereits darauf !

Gefreut habe ich mich über das Wiedersehen mit Frau Klever aus Nürnberg, eine wirklich bodenständige und patente Frau mit der man immer lachen kann.

Getroffen habe ich auch Adriano Martinez Rius und ich sollte ihn auch am Gala Abend wieder trefen wo er mir ein Autogramm für die „Bibel” gab.

Und ab auf die Terrasse des Nacional ging es nach der Fiesta Cubana !

My greatest fear was that we would meet no cubans at the Fiesta Cubana organized by 5-th Ave. and Intertabak – but then I saw Maritza and Juanita and the evening was saved.

We invited Maritza to sit at our table and she knew that she was in good hands.

It was a smashing venue, the Tropical beer bar at the Parque Metropolitano, an Art deco jungle setting, very nice. As were the gracious creatures walking around graciously dressed in jungle art.

The music was outstanding, even for the high Cuban standards. Mr Villiger, the CEO flew over for the event.

There was just one hitch, even before the event started as the buses arrived.

How do you get rid of beer with no restrooms available ? Right, off to the bushes you go … well whatever.
Which we could see some doing in plain sight ….

At least when there are no toilets, but that was supposedly the price to be paid for the smashing venue.

Which is a bit tight when you have invited 400 folks.

So it was a mission impossible in Havana with a happy ending when a toilet bus appeared after just 30 minutes.

Mission possible is the fact that Patricia and Marc Benden from Düsseldorf want to smoke at our pharmacy smoke night in the near future when some of their customers again drive down to join us .

I was very happy to meet the very down to earth and no-nonsense Mrs Klever from the Nürnberg LCH, always a good laugh with her.

And I met Adriano Martinez Rius, whom I was going to meet again at the Gala dinner where he would kindly sign an autograph for my “Bible”.

And off to the Nacional terrace we went after the Fiesta Cubana !
