Paladar Amigos Del Mar in Miramar
10 Dec
It was good old Toby, THE man in Havana, who told me about this place and a “unique feature” it has ( if there is no black-out …. ).
Hard to find as it is tugged inside a little alley and not visible from the street. It took us half an hour of searching even though we knew it is located between the two tunnels and next to the Puente de Hierro across from the Fabrica del Arte.
Food is OK and the seafood as fresh as it gets being next to the water, although a little expensive compared to other places, but the location is perfect and the service is very good. Shark and all kinds of seafood is on the menu.
Owner Fernando, a jolly good pirate and a friendly diver and sailor who offers his yacht for a cigar party, has a very good taste in rums giving me a good glass of Santeria 11 yr old to pair my cigar.
Overall a cosy, relaxing and breezy place for snacks and a down-time from the hustle and the buzz of the city.
As for the “unique feature” – if you’re lucky and patient enough you might be able to find it …. 🙂
