Havana – Frank In Cuba – Part 3 & Final
29 Mar
Cuba – So you think everything Frank and I did there was highly and seriously educational, right ?
Extremely serious stuff and seriously well prepared, right ?
I mean, hey, we were there on the Festival run, behaving accordingly, right ?
Wrong – We never stopped laughing, having fun, doing our thing, changing plans at the spur of the moment, having beer briefings, and, more often, rum de-briefings well into the wee hours and generally having a hands-on approach on the subject matter; cigars, rum and fun.
The fun started in our first Casa, when Frank wouldn’t stop telling me of his experiences with the Belgian tax system – at 0200 hrs.
Even the barking nut dogs shut up, cried and asked for mercy.
Good to have a bottle of rum nearby.
But I couldn’t hit him over the head with it as it was still one third full when he showed mercy and finally quit.
I retaliated a few days later and wouldn’t stop blabbering about some issue equally as important, in fact so important I have no frecking clue anymore what it was about, but it sure turned out funny, even the glasses laughed themselves to smithereens and it wasn’t until 0400 that we hit the sack, pleasantly loaded.
Guess you have an idea now of how we spent our time together …
Having Fun.
Good old clean fun.
Serious fun.
Serious Cigars.
Serious Rum.
To be repeated.
In Havana.
Nino ( Frank refused to sign claiming his liver was still upset – Ha ! )
PS:
I truly felt sad when he left.
We shared a good time.
Even sharing the always luke-warm beer and smoking a good cigar at the airport’s upstairs non-smoking restaurant had a good feeling about it.
Nice sharing that last part of the dreaded Havana airport, the clock always stopped at 1447 hrs for years, the place empty, the mood somber, the planes waiting, departure imminent.
Somehow it was OK this time.
After all : he was leaving and I was staying … 🙂
Nie wieder Kuba !
Bis nächstes Jahr in Havanna !!
Thanks again for an unforgetable week my Friend.
It was a week that I will never forget and I sincerly hope that we get a chance to do it again.
See you in Köln
Frank
My pleasure Frank – we’ll do a repeat performance …
See you in Kölle for fun & good cigars again !
Gruss / Nino
PS : Du mich auch 🙂
Nino, Frank, a pleasure to read how two good friends spent the time together in the best way possible in Havana. Wish I was there with you!
Arild,
you’d have enjoyed it, I am sure … 🙂
Regards / Nino
