Welcome – step in !

Last Saturday it was BBQ time again.

Reiner invited us over for 2 beautifully cooked ducks and we enjoyed an afternoon and evening of good food, fun and good cigars.

We started with the H.Upmann 1/2 Coronas, a staple cigar that, although too young and short always delivers.

I then smoked the vintage H.Upmann Singulares A/T and it was still a very powerful cigar, full of rich tobacco taste, strong and wonderfully kept by the vacuum sealed packaging.

After dinner it was a 2010 Diplomatic cigar, gifted by a good friend which was part of cigars presented to a ( non-smoking ) Russian potentate.

This cigar was impressive in that it was smooth, creamy and remained smooth, mild and creamy throughout its progression, never changing its profile, no perceptible changes.

Delicious and funny enough I could have smoked this monster right after breakfast to a cafe con leche, overall a very “round” cigar in the sense that the blend was really spot on for a mild but rather large cigar.

Reiner smoked a Reynaldo Cimarron that was all “leather and black chocolate”. Rich.

Monday then a good dinner of Leberknödel, Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes followed by a Cuaba Salomones – this Marca does nothing for me….

But then we retired to the pharmacy office for another bottle of whiskey and it became Monday “A” time …

Montecristo A’s for Andreas & Hans and my last Sancho Panza Sancho from ’00, lovely, grassy, lots of hay, great !

The whisky was a Glenrothes Malt.

Now it’s planning and booking time again for another trip to Cuba…
